YB Datuk Julaihi Narawi Visit to the Site of Batang Lupar Bridge

YB Datuk Julaihi Narawi, Assistant Minister (Ministry of Infrastructure & Ports Development of Sarawak) cum ADUN N.27 Sebuyau and his team had paid a visit this morning to the site of Batang Lupar Bridge in order to monitor the progress of the project. YB Datuk Julaihi said that the appointed contractor has been doing the field works as planned whereby some of the early stage works are already completed.

The scope of work for Batang Lupar No. 1 Bridge includes the construction of a 2-lane bridge which follows the road standard of JKR R5 with a total length of 4.844 km. 600m of this bridge will be the iconic cable-stayed. This project is expected to be completed in January 2025. He had also commented on the postponement of the ground breaking ceremony for Batang Lupar Bridge 2 days ago, as the ceremony was postponed because of the spreading of Covid-19 in Kuching & Samarahan area which have turned into a red zone and Betong which is still in yellow zone. Even though the ceremony has been delayed until further notice, the work on site will still proceed with a strict SOP.

Also present during the visit were YBhg. Datu Haji Safri bin Haji Zainudin, Permanent Secretary (Ministry of Infrastructure & Ports Development Sarawak), Encik Ting Ka Swee, Acting Unit Head (JKR Coastal & Second Trunk Road) OPUS Consultants (M) Sdn Bhd. and contraktor.
