Launching Ceremony - Operation Centre, JKR Bahagian Miri

The launching ceremony for the new Operation Centre, JKR Bahagian Miri was officiated by Ybrs. Ir. Richard Anak Tajan, Director of Public Works Sarawak. The JKR Miri Operation Centre was fully completed on 8 October 2021, which is earlier than the contractual end date (25 Oktober 2021) and was under the supervision of JKR Northern Regional Office. It was handed over to JKR Miri Divisional Office on 15 Oktober 2021. The scope of works for this project include:

1) 1 unit/block of operation centre;

2) Specially designed roof structure by the System Provider;

3) Building interior and exterior works; and

4) Mechanical & electrical works.

During the symbolic ceremony, DPW had emphasized on the importance of this Operation Centre which can act as a 'One Stop Centre' whereby various operations can be executed which includes the placement of a small-scale trained RAPIDU team that can be deployed during emergency and safety operations. Besides that, it can also be a place to conduct various activities and competency training. The operation centre is fully equipped with a condusive and comfortable working environment. DPW hopes that the JKR Operation Centre will always be excellently maintained and well-kept.

Also present during the ceremony were TS Cassidy ak Morris, Deputy Director (Infrastructure), En. Meehan ak Jorai, Head of Projects & Regional Manager (JKR SRO), En. Jan Mohamad Zain bin Haji lbrahim, Assistant Director (Fleet Management), En. Chong Chi Fam, Assistant Director (Bridges & Wharves), Ir. Teo Nguong Leong, Regional Manager (JKR NRO), En. Stephen Ung, Divisional Engineer (JKR Miri), Pn. Jenny ak Thomas Chundau, Ag. Assistant Director (Corporate Communication) and senior officers from JKR Sarawak.
