The first engagement session between Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Sarawak and Petronas Sabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline (SSGP) was held today to specifically discuss some of the issues that had been raised up with regards to Sarawak-Sabah Link Road (SSLR) Fasa I project earlier today. The engagement session was chaired by YBrs. Ir. Ts. Richard Anak Tajan, Director of Public Works Sarawak.

Several solutions have been proposed by YBrs. Director of Public Works Sarawak especially on the issue where the  construction works for SSLR 1 are implemented close to the Petronas pipelines. Both sides have agreed with the proposed solutions and moving forward, the contractors are expected to work closely with Petronas on this matter.

Besides that, YBrs. Director of Public Works had also reminded all contractors involved with JKR Sarawak projects to always comply with the practice of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on project sites regardless of whether the projects are being implemented in the urban or rural areas. He emphasized that compliance to PPE is very important for safety purpose and it will be able to save lives from any mishap that might happen.

Also present during the engagement session were Ir. Awg Mohamad Fadillah Awg Redzuan, Unit Head (Pan Borneo High Way) JKRS; Encik Norrizam Mohamad, Ketua SSGP; Ir. Sim Hui Kheng, JKRS Quality Manager; Ir. Christopher George, Project Manager SSLR I (JKRS PBHU);  Encik Mohamad Razi Mansoor, Ketua Unit Intergriti SSGP, officers from PBHU JKRS and Petronas SSGP as well as representatives from the contractors and consultants.
