All JKR Sarawak staff had been urged to adapt themselves with the fast and efficient working culture, in line with the government's aspiration to turn Sarawak into a well developed region by 2030.
“In implementing infrastructure projects, we must make sure that all of the steps that had been taken are based on the principle of urgency and sense of ownership. This includes ensuring the projects are implemented efficiently and effectively, while making sure that all of the resources had been utilized accordingly," explained YBrs Ir. Ts. Gs. Br. Dr. Cassidy Anak Morris, Director of Public Works Sarawak in his speech.
In his speech during the Thanksgiving Ceremony organized by Infrastructure Sector last night, Dr. Cassidy said that all of JKR Sarawak staff must be committed in giving the best performance in every task that had been assigned, as well as to strive in achieving excellence in all aspects of our work.
“We look at the vision and leadership of YAB Premier today, who is very committed in turning Sarawak into a well developed reigon in Malaysia, together with various plans and implementations that had slowly shown their benefits. Therefore, as civil servants, we must have similar sense of efficiency and urgency as our leader," he added. "By doing that, we will be able to achieve an even bigger achievements while fulfilling Sarawakians' aspiration and hope for the region."
Repeating the message during the Amanat Pengarah 2024 ceremony, right after he was appointed as the 11th Director of Public Works recently, Dr. Cassidy had also advised all engineers in JKR Sarawak to continuously learn and enhance their skills and knowledge through training and learning sessions as the engineering technology from the previous 10 years may be different than what we currently have.
“There will be No More Business as Usual for JKR Sarawak. We should never be complacent with our past achievements as the knowledge that we have right now may no longer be adaptable to the latest design technology that we have nowadays. Therefore, we should work together to turn JKR Sarawak into a technical department that is excellent, examplary, and well respected," added Dr. Cassidy.
Also present during the ceremony were JKR Sarawak Top Management, together with officers from 5 branches under the Infrastructure sector, namely, Road Branch, Coastal & Second Trunk Road Branch, Bridges & Riverine Structure Branch, Rural Development Branch and Pan Borneo Highway Branch.
