A delegation of 14 officers from the JKR Sarawak conducted a working visit to several locations in Kuala Lumpur, Seremban, and Perak from 24 to 26 September 2024 to study the management and operation of Rest and Recovery (R&R) areas along highways in Sarawak. Led by Ir. Wisil Lichok, Deputy Director (Infrastructure) of JKR Sarawak, the delegation began with a briefing by Ts. Dr. Rohayah Abdullah, Chief Assistant Director of Operations Monitoring at the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM).
During the session, LLM and PLUS Malaysia Berhad shared insights and exchanged information with the JKR Sarawak delegation on various aspects of R&R management. Following the briefing at LLM, the delegation visited the Southbound Seremban R&R, recognized as Malaysia’s first Sustainable R&R, before proceeding to the North-South Expressway. Stops included the Desa Serdang Layby (Kuala Lumpur-bound) on the Sungai Besi BESRAYA Expressway, the Southbound Elmina R&R, and the Northbound Tapah R&R in Perak.
