Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Abang Haji Openg, Premier of Sarawak, today officially opened the Marudi Bridge, a 650-meter structure spanning the Batang Baram River that was completed ahead of its original June 2025 schedule. In his inauguration speech, the Premier commended the exceptional construction quality and congratulated Marudi residents on gaining this vital connection that will serve as a socio-economic catalyst for the region.

"This bridge not only facilitates seamless movement between Marudi and Miri but also represents our government's commitment to accelerating infrastructure development for the benefit of all Sarawakians," stated the Premier during the ceremony. The project, which commenced in October 2022, achieved its 10 November 2024 completion through the dedicated efforts of contractors, consultants, and rigorous oversight by Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Sarawak. The early delivery of this strategic infrastructure demonstrates Sarawak's capability in efficient project execution under the Post-COVID Development Strategy 2030, significantly enhancing connectivity and economic opportunities for northern Sarawak communities.
