YBhg. Datu Adj. Prof. Ir. Ts. Gs. Br. PMr. Dr. Cassidy anak Morris, Director of Public Works Sarawak, continued the Project Empowerment Visit series by reviewing the Proposed Installation of a New Bailey Bridge across Sungai Baleh in Baram. The bridge installation project has been completed five months ahead of its scheduled completion date, enabling transportation connectivity in the area to be restored sooner for the benefit of local communities.

The bridge is a Bailey Bridge supplied by the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) through its logistical support initiative aimed at accelerating the provision of alternative access routes, particularly in rural and interior areas requiring immediate solutions. In terms of implementation scope, the project involved the construction of a Triple Double Reinforced (TDR) Bailey Bridge using the Bailey Bridge System with 17 panels, designed to ensure structural strength and the capacity to safely accommodate traffic loads. The successful implementation of the project reflects the strategic collaboration between NADMA and the Public Works Department Sarawak in ensuring the efficient and effective provision of temporary infrastructure to support mobility and the well-being of communities in the interior regions of Sarawak.
