YBrs. Ir. Richard Anak Tajan, Director of Public Works Sarawak has visited the project site for "Projek Membina Sarawak-Sabah Link Road Lawas-Persimpangan Long Lopeng" which is located in Lawas. The first phase of this project involves the construction of 77 km road starting from the Long Lopeng junction. The completion of this road will ensure that the surrounding rural ares will be safely linked and connected.

In the briefing session, DPW had also urged the contractor and consultant to remain committed in fulfilling their responsibilities by implementing the project in a smooth and effective manner. He believes that this project can be executed within the specified time frame. SSLR Project (Phase 1) is expected to be fully completed by January 2026. Also present during the visit were Ir. Awg. Mohd. Fadillah Bin Awg. Redzuan, Unit Head (PBHU JKR Sarawak), Ir. Christopher George, SSLR (Phase 1) Project Manager, JKR Sarawak, En. Mahathir Bin Jokeni, Divisional Engineer (JKR Limbang), officers from JKR Headquarters, contractor and consultant.
