YB Dato Majang Renggi, Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development (Port Development) had visited the project sites for SK Sg Tisang and SMK Samalaju earlier today. The SK Sg. Tisang project is one of the selected projects under the proposed upgrade for dilapidated schools in Sarawak. The project is expected to be completed in June 2023. Meanwhile, another school which is SMK Samalaju, Bintulu which falls under the 11 MP projects is expected to be completed in 2024. This project includes the construction of a new chool with 36 classrooms, hostel (450 students) and 24 units of teacher's accommodation as well as other necessary facilities.
Once the projects are completed, it will give a huge benefit to the students, teachers and parents whereby the school will provide a conducive and safe place for learning environment. A short briefing on the projects were delivered by Encik Mohd. Qarib bin Abd. Hadi Khan, Architect (JKR Bintulu Divisional Office) and Cik Farah Hanun bte Abdurahim, Civil Engineer (JKR Bintulu Divisional Office).
Also present during the visit were Ir. Lau Pit Hwa, Divisional Engineer (JKR Bintulu), Pn. Dayang Marlinda binti Awang Omar, Assistant Divisional Engineer (JKR Bintulu), senior officers from MIPD, JKR Bintulu Divisional Office, representatives from Resident Office, SEB, JBALB, Pejabat Pendidikan Bahagian Bintulu and Kontraktor.
