Deputy Premier Sarawak Work Visit - Second Kuching Samarahan Trunk Road

Yang Berhormat Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Deputy Premier, Second Minister for Finance and New Economy and Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development Sarawak had visited the project sites for "Second Kuching-Samarahan Trunk Road", which is one of the project initiatives by Sarawak Government under the Sarawak Coastal Road program. The packages include:
1. Package D3C: Construction of New Road from Tg. Bako Road to Btg. Samarahan Bridge
2. Package D3B: Upgrading of Existing Jalan Kpg. Tanjong Bako from JKR R3 to JKR R5 Standard; dan
3. Package D3A: Construction of Bridge over Sg. Sarawak at Sejingkat
The work visit commenced with a technical briefing by Ir. Ts. Dr. Cassidy anak Morris, JKR Deputy Director (Infrastructure) with regards to the work progress of the projects that are currently under implementation. Afterwards, the team had went to the ground to see the physical progress on sites as well as to discuss the required actions that need to be taken to ensure that the projects can be completed on schedule.
Also present during the visit were Encik Chiew Chee Yau, Permanent Secretary (MIPD), Ir. Ts. Teo Nguong Leong, JKR SPAD (Coastal & Second Trunk Road), Encik Indra Sakti Bin Haron, Divisional Engineer (JKR Samarahan), officers from JKR Sarawak, consultant and contractor.
