Ir. Ts. Gs. Br. Dr. Cassidy anak Morris, Director of Public Works Sarawak had delivered his mandate to all of JKR Sarawak staff for the first time ever since his appointment as the new Director in May 2024. The main objective of this mandate is to ensure the whole JKR Sarawak staff in both Headquarters and Divisional level are aware on the direction of the department and understand all of the departmental governance that needs to be implemented.
He emphasized that the department's vision and mission will only be achieved if all of JKR Sarawak staff can responsibly perform their tasks urgently with full commitment as well as with honesty and dedication. For the year 2024, he had set 5 main targets that need to be addressed by JKR Sarawak, which are:
1. Zero critically delayed projects
2. 12-hour solution for complaints management
3. 100% financial performance
4. Project innovation
5. Improved road maintenance
Therefore, DPW urged all of JKR Sarawak staff to work together and help each other out in every level. Besides that, JKR Sarawak must also make sure that all of the actions taken are in line with Sarawak Post Covid Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030. This is important for us in order to achieve the government aspiration to turn Sarawak into a well developed region by the year 2030. He also reminded everyone that we have to instil the 6 core values, which are integrity, professionalism, result-oriented, kind & caring, teamwork and sense of urgency.
"By doing that, we will be able to deliver better services to accomodate the needs and hopes of Sarawak people more effectively. At the same time, we will be able to build our reputation as a trusted and respected department," he said. The mandate ceremony was attended by senior officers in JKR Sarawak.
