Ts. Meehan anak Jorai, representative for Director of Public Works Sarawak, had awarded the 1 Million Safe-Manhours to Datu Sr Hj Zaidi bin Hj Mahdi, Director (Land Custody & Development Authority). This followed by the handing over of Bangunan Pusat Pentadbiran Kerajaan Sarawak, Bahagian Sarikei by Datu Mohamad Junaidi Mohidin, Director (Administration Unit) to Michael Ronnie ak Langgong, Resident (Sarikei), while being witnessed by Datu Buckland Bangik, Deputy State Secretary (Administration).
The 1 Million Safe Man-hours was intended to recognize contractors that practice and inculcate safety management at workplace ensuring safety and health to all of the construction workers. With the completion of the new administrative building, which is equipped with various facilities, it will provide a convenient working environment that will benefit the public in Sarikei Division.
In his speech, he urged all the officers to serve the people in an excellent manner as they will expect the government to deliver excellent services. Also present were Head of Departments, Senior Principal Assistant Directors, officers from JKR Sarawak and contractor.
