Workshop - 2025 Maintenance Works Plan for PBH Sarawak

A joint workshop between Jabatan Kerja Raya Sarawak (JKRS) and Pan Borneo Highway Asset Management Sdn Bhd was held today to ensure appointed maintenance contractors for the Lebuhraya Pan Borneo (LPB) Sarawak adhere to government specifications and contractual obligations. In his closing remarks, YBrs. Ir. Wisil Anak Lichok, Acting Director of Public Works Sarawak, emphasized contractors' responsibility to address public complaints promptly and execute high-quality maintenance works to ensure user safety and comfort along LPB.
Since September 2023, JKRS has handed over seven sections (157km total) for maintenance, namely, Nyabau Intersection, KOP (Bintulu), Batang Rajang (Sibu), Telok Melano-Sematan, Julau and Serian. With the handing over of these sections, the contractors will now oversee the routine works (year-round), periodic pavement works, non-pavement periodic works and emergency works (as approved).
JKRS serves as the Ministry of Works Malaysia (KKR) strategic partner, enforcing Federal Government terms for operations, maintenance, and compliance supervision. Attendees Included Indra Sakti Haron, Senior Principal Assistant Director (Pan Borneo Highway Branch), Ts. Norman Jan, Senior Principal Assistant Director (Corporate Planning), Jason Ng, Divisional Engineer (JKR Betong), Ts. Chang Chee Khiong, Senior Engineer (Digital Construction & Asset Management Unit), Hajah Zalida Ahmad, Director of PBH Asset Management, Divisional Engineers and contractor representatives.
