Director of Public Works Site Visit - Sibu Division

YBrs. Ir. Ts. Gs. Br. PMr. Dr. Cassidy Anak Morris, Director of Public Works Sarawak, commenced a working visit to Sibu Division with an inspection of the ongoing SMK Selangau construction project. The educational infrastructure development comprises a 3-5 storey Academic & Administration Block, 3-storey Boys' and Girls' Hostels, a Single-storey Dining Hall, two 3-storey Teachers' Quarters (Blocks A & B), a Utility Building, and supporting facilities. Utilizing Industrialised Building System (IBS) technology, this 400-student capacity school is projected for completion by Q2 2027 and will significantly enhance educational accessibility for Selangau and surrounding communities through its integrated residential facilities.

The Director subsequently visited the 6.75-kilometer Kong Yit Khim Road project connecting Sibu Jaya with the town center, a crucial connectivity initiative expected to substantially reduce travel times upon imminent completion. The working visit concluded with preparatory engagements for tomorrow's Teku Pasai Siong – Kemuyang Road groundbreaking ceremony, where the Director accompanied Yang Berhormat Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Deputy Premier Sarawak and Minister of Finance & New Economy II / Minister of Infrastructure & Port Development, ahead of the official ceremony to be presided by the Premier of Sarawak.
