Cik Cynthia Chin, Head of Conservation Sarawak for WWF Malaysia, recently led a delegation on a courtesy visit to Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Sarawak, where they were warmly received by Ir. Ts. Anding Ak Unchi, Senior Assistant Director (Roads), representing the Director of Public Works Sarawak. The visit centered on exchanging perspectives regarding sustainable infrastructure development in Sarawak, with discussions focusing on integrating conservation principles with infrastructure planning to benefit both local communities and wildlife.
"WWF-Malaysia looks forward to exploring collaborative opportunities to support the 'Greening Sarawak's Future Linear Infrastructure' initiative, aligning with Sarawak's sustainability goals," stated the Head of Conservation (HOC) during the meeting. This engagement marks a significant step toward strengthening partnerships between conservation efforts and public infrastructure planning for Sarawak's future development. The dialogue emphasized creating synergies between ecological preservation and developmental needs, reflecting JKR Sarawak's commitment to environmentally responsible infrastructure under the Post-COVID Development Strategy 2030.
