Public Works Department Sarawak welcomed 200 new personnel in conjunction with the Kursus Induksi Khusus (Jabatan) Siri 1/2025, officiated today by YBrs. Ts. Meehan ak Jorai, Deputy Director (Technical Services), who represented the Director of Public Works Sarawak. The programme, held from 24 to 28 February 2025 in Kuching, marks an important milestone for the new staff as they begin their careers with JKR Sarawak.
The primary objective of this induction course is to equip participants with essential knowledge, skills and foundational understanding to help them adapt to the department’s work culture and operational structure. Over the five-day programme, participants will be introduced to JKR Sarawak’s vision, mission, core values and key functions, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s strategic direction. In his officiating speech, YBrs. Ts. Meehan emphasised the importance of cultivating competent and dedicated public servants. “This induction is not merely about learning rules and procedures; it is also about building strong work ethics, commitment and cooperation among all members of the department,” he said.
Throughout the programme, new personnel will participate in various interactive sessions, discussions and networking opportunities aimed at strengthening their understanding of departmental roles and expectations. JKR Sarawak remains committed to developing its workforce to ensure the delivery of high-quality infrastructure and services for the people of Sarawak. The event was also attended by senior officers, including Ketua-ketua Penolong Pengarah Kanan and other senior officials from JKR Sarawak Headquarters.
