Director of Public Works Sarawak Inspects Retaining Wall Damage at Selangau Interchange

The Director of Public Works Sarawak conducted a site visit to inspect the damaged retaining wall structure at the Selangau Interchange, with the aim of assessing the current condition and obtaining detailed information on the cause of the incident. The visit was carried out to ensure that remedial works can be implemented promptly and effectively in order to safeguard road users.

Following the incident, the Public Works Department Sarawak was required to temporarily close the affected route to facilitate repair and stabilisation works on the damaged structure. This measure was taken as a safety precaution to prevent any potential risk of accidents and to ensure that restoration works can be carried out smoothly. Members of the public and road users are advised to remain patient and exercise caution when travelling near the affected area, while adhering to all safety signage in place. The cooperation of all parties is greatly appreciated to ensure collective safety throughout the duration of the repair works.
