Project Empowerment Visit in Long Banga

The Director of Public Works Sarawak, YBhg. Datu Adj. Prof. Ir. Ts. Gs. Br. PMr. Dr. Cassidy anak Morris, has arrived in Long Banga to undertake the Second Series of the Project Empowerment Visit, focusing on the implementation of development projects in rural areas. The visit aims to review the progress of ongoing projects and strengthen monitoring of infrastructure development in remote areas to ensure that implementation proceeds smoothly in accordance with planned schedules, technical specifications and local requirements.

Among the key focuses of the visit is the Rural Bridge Transformation Program (RBTP), which is being implemented to replace ageing or deteriorated bridges in rural areas with safer, higher-quality and more resilient bridge structures. This initiative aims to enhance safety and improve connectivity for local communities. The programme reflects the continued commitment of the Public Works Department Sarawak to ensure that development projects are implemented effectively and deliver direct benefits to the well-being of rural communities, in line with the state’s development aspirations.
