Sg Paku Bridge to Open for Traffic in April 2026

The Deputy Premier of Sarawak and Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development Sarawak, YB Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, conducted a site visit to review the progress of the Sungai Paku Bridge Construction Project at Jalan Tanjung Sebekut, Spaoh, Betong Division on Saturday. The RM36.9 million project represents a key initiative by the Sarawak Government to strengthen infrastructure connectivity and improve accessibility in rural areas, particularly for residents in Spaoh and the wider Betong Division.
According to him, the construction of the bridge will enhance access for local communities, improve road safety, and stimulate economic activities in the surrounding areas. To date, the project has achieved 81.94 per cent physical progress, and the bridge is expected to be opened to traffic in April 2026.
