Director of Public Works Sarawak Attends Address Ceremony by Chairman of Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee

The Director of Public Works Sarawak, YBhg. Datu Adj. Prof. Ir. Ts. Gs. Br. PMr. Dr. Cassidy anak Morris, attended the Address Ceremony by the Chairman of the Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee, held to strengthen preparedness and inter-agency coordination in facing potential disaster situations in the state. The event brought together various government agencies and relevant stakeholders to receive key directives and guidance from the Chairman, aimed at ensuring that the level of disaster preparedness remains at an optimal level.

In the address, emphasis was placed on the importance of close collaboration among all involved agencies, including technical agencies such as the Public Works Department Sarawak, in ensuring effective disaster management. This is particularly crucial in areas such as the maintenance of critical infrastructure, road connectivity, and logistical support during emergencies. An integrated approach and swift action by all agencies were highlighted as essential factors in safeguarding public safety and well-being.

As a technical agency of the state government, the Public Works Department Sarawak remains committed to providing technical expertise, infrastructure maintenance, and rapid response to ensure that road access and public facilities remain operational, especially during emergency situations. Participation in such engagements further strengthens inter-agency coordination and ensures that disaster management planning and response can be carried out in a more structured and effective manner.
