YBhg. Dato’ Zainal Alhakab bin Seman, Deputy Secretary General (Management) of the Ministry of Works, chaired the Engagement Session for Hari Profesion Teknikal Negara (HPTN). The organisation of HPTN serves as a platform to recognise the significant contributions and services of technical professionals in driving infrastructure development and national modernisation across various fields, including engineering, astronomy, science, technology, construction, architecture, surveying, and related disciplines. In addition, HPTN also serves as an initiative to encourage and produce more skilled talent in technical fields, particularly among the younger generation, to continue contributing towards the nation’s future development.

This annual programme also provides a platform for the technical professional community to voice opinions, share ideas, and engage with the public, while elevating the status and standing of technical professions in Malaysia. The programme also included a site visit to the location designated for the event and exhibition booths to review preparations and the suitability of facilities provided, while offering an early overview of the programme implementation. Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Sarawak is honoured to host this engagement session, reflecting the department’s commitment towards supporting the development of technical human capital and strengthening strategic collaboration between agencies, industry players, and the community for sustainable and competitive infrastructure development.
