DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS SARAWAK ATTENDS JKR SARAWAK INDUSTRY COLLABORATION AND APPRECIATION 2026

YBhg. Datu Adj. Prof. Ir. Ts. Gs. Br. PMr. Dr. Cassidy anak Morris, Director of Public Works Sarawak attended the JKR Sarawak Industry Collaboration and Appreciation 2026, which brought together 102 industry partners in recognition of their continuous support and collaboration in the delivery of infrastructure projects across Sarawak. In his speech, he emphasised that strong cooperation between the Public Works Department Sarawak and industry players not only benefits the organisation, but also contributes towards a more stable, transparent and sustainable construction industry in Sarawak.

At the same time, he expressed his appreciation to industry partners who have consistently responded to quotation requests with professionalism and commitment, playing an important role in enhancing the accuracy of project cost planning. The event also marked the launch of the JKRS Cost Connect Portal, a dedicated digital platform developed to collect and consolidate market price data from industry partners. This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to digitalisation, in line with the Premier of Sarawak’s aspiration to modernise public service delivery.

Through this portal, all quotations received will be used strictly for internal purposes, including preparing project cost estimates, updating the Schedule of Rates, and strengthening overall project delivery excellence. This ensures that cost data remains up-to-date, reliable, and reflective of actual market conditions. aThe programme underscores JKR Sarawak’s continued commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders in delivering efficient, competitive, and high-impact infrastructure for the people.
