JKR Sarawak remains committed to ensuring that upgrading and repair works on the state's main sports facilities are completed according to schedule in preparation for the 2027 SEA Games. Director of Public Works Sarawak, YBhg. Datu Adj. Prof. Ir. Ts. Gs. Br. PMr. Dr. Cassidy anak Morris, delivered a briefing on the progress of the upgrading projects for Stadium Sarawak and Stadium Perpaduan during a working visit by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Yang Berhormat Dr. Mohammed Taufiq bin Johari, who inspected the facility preparations for the prestigious sporting event.

For the Stadium Sarawak Upgrading and Repair project, execution is currently proceeding according to the stipulated schedule and is fully expected to be completed in January 2027. The scope of work encompasses various major components, including architectural works, roof replacement, structural repairs, as well as improvements to seating facilities and landscaping.

Meanwhile, the Stadium Perpaduan Upgrading and Repair project is expected to be completed in February 2027, thereby completing the state's readiness to provide international-standard facilities for hosting the 2027 SEA Games. JKR Sarawak will continue to ensure that the execution of every project is closely monitored in terms of quality, safety, and schedule compliance to guarantee optimal readiness ahead of the event.
