JKR Sarawak attended the International Conference on Slope 2026 (ICOS 2026), which took place at Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur from April 29 to April 30, 2026. This international conference brought together geotechnical engineering experts, researchers, and industry practitioners from both local and international arenas to discuss current issues and the latest innovations in the field of slope management.
Throughout the conference, various technical presentations and knowledge-sharing sessions were held, covering topics such as slope stability, landslide risk mitigation, slope monitoring technology, and sustainable, resilient design approaches. The participation of JKR Sarawak reflects the department's ongoing commitment to strengthening technical knowledge and enhancing capability in slope management, particularly for the implementation of infrastructure projects in hilly and high-risk areas across Sarawak.
The knowledge and insights gained through this conference are expected to be fully applied in the execution of departmental projects, subsequently contributing toward the development of safer, more efficient, and sustainable infrastructure.
