Groundbreaking Ceremony - New Road to Asap Resettlement Scheme

Yang Berhormat Tuan Kennedy Chukpai Ugon, Member of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly for N.66 Murum, officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new road to Sungai Asap Resettlement Scheme this morning. This 3.93-kilometer road project, comprising Road A (2.601 km), Road B (1.085 km), Road C (0.234 km) and two bridges across Sungai Asap, will connect longhouses, schools (SK Batu Keling and SMK Bakun), and government offices in the area. Upon completion, the road is expected to significantly reduce travel time and improve daily mobility for local communities.

"This road represents our long-awaited dream – a sustainable development for our people. I urge full community cooperation to ensure its smooth implementation," stated Yang Berhormat in his address. Ir. Ts. Jawa Anak Gara, Divisional Engineer of JKR Kapit Division, delivered a project briefing. Also present were Puan Bidah Lujah, District Officer (Belaga), Tuan Sagu Anak Until, Land and Survey Superintendent (Kapit), Ir. Ts. Christopher Donovan Durin Ajoi, Assistant Divisional Engineer (JKR Kapit), senior officers from JKR Sarawak and local community leaders.
