The Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) proudly launches its annual BEM Open Day 2024, a prestigious event that brings together leaders, professionals, academics, and aspiring engineers from across Malaysia. Held in Sarawak, this two-day event serves as a dynamic platform for learning, collaboration, and exploration in the rapidly evolving field of engineering.
A key highlight of today’s programme is the Professional Engineer Conferment Ceremony, celebrating 25 engineers who have been awarded the esteemed title of Professional Engineer under Section 10 of the Registration of Engineers Act 1967 (REA 1967). This title, symbolised by the prefix “Ir.” and suffix “P.Eng.”, reflects their commitment to uphold the highest standards in ethics, safety, and sustainability. Among the honourees, 10 are officers from the Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak, showcasing the department’s dedication to professional development and engineering excellence in public infrastructure.
