Kursus Induksi Khusus (Jabatan) 1/2025 Closing Ceremony

Director of Public Works Sarawak, YBrs. Ir. Ts. Gs. Br. PMr. Dr. Cassidy anak Morris, officiated the Closing Ceremony of the Kursus Induksi Khusus (Jabatan) 1/2025 in a session held today. The course was organised to strengthen the knowledge and understanding of newly appointed officers and staff on the organisational structure, policies, and strategic direction of the Public Works Department Sarawak. In his address, the Director underscored the significance of the induction programme as a fundamental platform for shaping competent and competitive public service officers. “This course is not merely to fulfil service requirements; it is an important step in developing officers who are proactive and capable. I urge all participants to cultivate a strong work ethic, be more assertive in contributing to the department, and continuously strive to enhance their capabilities,” he said.

He also emphasised the importance of professional accreditation among PWD personnel, noting that certification and professional recognition are essential for strengthening the department’s credibility and competitiveness in delivering state development projects. “Professional accreditation is not just a personal achievement but a necessity to ensure high work standards aligned with industry expectations. All officers should take the initiative to obtain relevant professional certifications in their respective fields,” he added. The Director reminded participants that the slogan “We Build for You” carries a meaningful responsibility for every member of the Public Works Department Sarawak. “We are not only building infrastructure but also building public confidence in government services. Therefore, every officer and staff member must work with integrity, professionalism, and a spirit of innovation to ensure that all projects implemented truly benefit the community,” he stressed.

The five-day course involved 198 participants from various divisions and branches across Sarawak. Throughout the programme, participants were exposed to the administrative structure of the Public Works Department Sarawak, public service work ethics, as well as the procedures and guidelines required in their daily responsibilities. The Kursus Induksi Khusus (Jabatan) is a mandatory programme for all new officers and staff prior to confirmation in service. With the completion of this course, participants are expected to apply the knowledge gained to enhance efficiency and service quality in line with the department’s commitment to “We Build for You.”
