JKR Sarawak Engagement Session with BHESS, Jabatan Perdana Menteri

Bahagian Hal Ehwal Sabah dan Sarawak (BHESS), Jabatan Perdana Menteri (JPM), conducted an engagement session with the Public Works Department Sarawak to obtain detailed information on the department’s functions, roles, and the implementation of development activities that have been and are currently being carried out in Sarawak. The session aimed to strengthen collaborative ties between BHESS and the Public Works Department Sarawak to ensure effective coordination and smooth management of Federal development projects. It was also aligned with the recognition of the Public Works Department Sarawak as a Jabatan Teknik, which has been delegated the authority to govern and manage Federal development projects with a value of up to RM50 million. The BHESS delegation was led by YBhg. Datuk Toisin Gantor, Setiausaha Bahagian, JUSA A, accompanied by nine senior officers. Upon arrival, the delegation was received by the leadership of the Public Works Department Sarawak prior to the commencement of the briefing session.

During the engagement, Ir. Ts. Gs. Br. PMr. Dr. Cassidy anak Morris, Director of Public Works Sarawak, delivered a briefing on the department’s strategic direction and its role in managing infrastructure projects across the state. He also introduced the department’s latest slogan, “We Build for You”, which reflects its commitment to delivering high-quality services to the public. He further emphasised the readiness of the Public Works Department Sarawak to implement Federal projects under AP182, ensuring that all projects are managed in a systematic and professional manner in accordance with established standards. The engagement session concluded with a question-and-answer segment and further discussions between both parties, aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation and enhancing the effectiveness of development project implementation in Sarawak.
